About Aircut Music
In 1979, Patty Dee created the Aircut Records music label. This was in the day of vinyl records and CDs were not yet on the scene. She released two independent records of her own works playing keyboards, viola, percussion and vocals. The first was a single called "We've All Had Enough" and "Now or Never” in 1978. A year later she released an EP called "Fade the Night Away" with five songs. These records had a small cult following in the US and Europe.
Patty revived the Aircut Records label as Aircut Music in 2000 as an official music studio concentrating on steel band in San Luis Obispo, California.
For the past 18 years Patty has been teaching Steel Drum classes for adults and children through Aircut Music Studio, Cuesta College Community Programs, and Old Mission School all in San Luis Obispo. The classes have all finished with a performance at San Luis Obispo's Downtown Farmer's Market. She led a performing group called The Sizzling Pandoliers for 4 years which performed many times at San Luis Obispo's Farmer's Market, The Garden Festival, Stone Soup, Live Oak Music Festival, Symphony Pops Concert, and other community events. For the past 7 years she has performed many public and private events as a soloist and in her duo, The Chrome Addicts. Currently she is teaching beginning and intermediate steel drum classes for Cuesta Community Programs on the San Luis Obispo campus.
